Bridal Necklaces – Don’t go too small!

Bridal Necklace - BS-216While it is not as common for brides to wear necklaces at the moment as many are wearing larger earrings and a bracelet, if you have an open neckline or a strapless dress, a necklace can still be a nice finishing touch so you don’t have so much “bare space”.

Many people who would like to wear a necklace but have a dress that has a lot of detail on the bodice make the mistake of thinking that they should wear a very small necklace.  My advise on this would be that if you do that the necklace is going to look too insignificant compared to the dress and in photos you will barely see it so it is much better to choose a necklace that has a bit more volume to it but not too over the top so it is not competing with you dress but is a nice compliment and then finish the look with a fairly small pair of earrings but also ones that can still be seen.

A choker style or a necklace that sits around the base of your neck such as BS-123, BS-216 or BS-217 are lovely styles for a detailed dress or bodice as they sit quite high and are therefore a little further away from the dress.
